We have a recently-initiated collaboration with the Laboratory of Dr. Michael Lane at Drexel University to study contribution of cervical c-bouton synaptic plasticity to the therapeutic benefits of respiratory therapy following spinal cord injury.

As a part of this collaboration, we will first examine the physiological role of cervical V0c interneurons and their c-bouton contacts in the regulation of phrenic motoneuron excitability and respiratory network output.
